Team structure

Go Team

The team consists of a beginning Category 4 team and an Elite Cat. 1,2,3 team. The Cat. 4's are given coaching so that they can develop the skills they need to improve and challenge themselves in a safe environment. There is no other team in the Midwest that actively seeks out other riders and provides group coaching. In fact, most of our 1,2,3 team consists of racers who were once '4's'. Our 1,2,3 team is very strong and we are almost always on the podium when we race. We work, race and ride as a team and that shows…we're dominate and we have a great time while we're doing it.

The women of the Ann Arbor Velo Club Women's Team are more than just a bunch of women wearing matching uniforms: we are a cohesive group of women with total dedication to the goals of the team. Outside of cycling, we are all professionals, and we know the value of hard work. We also know that we need to make the most of our time outside of work. We all share a similar philosophy: that the dedication to the team outweighs any individual ambition. This togetherness has earned the team a solid reputation in the Midwest, one that is respected and admired: because of our selflessness, we can be very difficult to beat.
